Day of Silence

Standard

This Wednesday is the Day of Silence. This day honors those who, every day, cannot be honest about their sexual orientation. They are forced into silence by prejudice and fear. On Wednesday participants in the Day of Silence will not speak or communicate in any way in order to understand what it’s like not to be able to voice essential feelings, thoughts, and needs. Those who don’t participate in the actual day will confront the reality of someone who is non-communicative, who doesn’t tell you what he or she is feeling.
